Life / Travelling

I’m back, bitches!

Dear readers, I am SO sorry that I let you down and didn’t write anything for ages (years!). Life has a nasty habit of throwing you a bunch of curveballs and the last couple of years have been filled with a lot of stressful situations that just took over, and so at weekends I didn’t feel like writing, instead choosing to just veg around or disappear altogether.

But now I have some time on my hands, and I want to come back to you. I need to reignite the writing spark that I think got lost somewhere along the way.

While there is little point in me trying to cover everything that happened while I was offline, let me tell you that the travelling has been insane. And it’s not going to stop – obviously!

The last trip I told you about was Salzburg, but since then I’ve been to so many other amazing places! In order, I’ve been to Helsinki, Oslo, Tallinn, Singapore, Bali, Hong Kong, Taipei, Tokyo, Florence, Zürich, Seville, Cape Town and parts of the Western Cape, Madeira, Bucharest, Milan, Palermo, San Francisco, Santorini, Cork, Gothenburg, Rio de Janeiro, Santiago de Chile, Lima, Bueno Aires, Belgrade, Moscow, Las Vegas, Curaçao, Aruba, Panama City, Bogota, Mexico City, Hamburg, Tbilisi, Baku, Nur-Sultan, Cairo, Dubrovnik, Glasgow, Stratford-upon-Avon, Cyprus, Sofia, Toulouse, Bratislava, the Provence, and bits of Galicia and Asturias. Honestly, if I didn’t have Facebook photo albums or my App In The Air (total life-saver if you travel a LOT), I don’t think I would remember everywhere I’ve been. I’ve had to make a list on my phone, which is also a way to tally how many countries we’ve seen and how many more we have to do to get to 100. I’m about halfway, but Dan is so close!

It’s been utterly amazing to see all of these places, and there are so many I want to go back to. Currently reading “Crazy Rich Asians” and I swear every night I’m dreaming about Singapore and how much more food I could’ve tried there. Or every time someone asks me what the best trip was (such an impossible question), I always end up saying that Cape Town is really worth every penny. South america-collage

Please enjoy the few photos I have sprinkled throughout this article as a make-up gesture because I’ve taken so many! My Huawei phones have been amazing in capturing every little detail of those adventures, and I really need to transfer pictures to my PC more often so I don’t lose any.

The next big trip is coming up in less than a month, and I’m so excited! I’m finally hitting my last continent, Australia! Now we booked this over a year ago and we did not know that there would be so many horrible bushfires. I have donated to several charities, and raised money through Facebook for Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital, hoping they’ll be able to rescue as many animals as possible.

Please drop me a line if I happened to visit where you live, and I’ll let you know what I enjoyed there! Or tell me which places I absolutely need to visit next, we’re pretty open to suggestions.
